Itinerary
Day 1
Rousse

Fly from your selected airport in the UK to Bucharest today, be met at the airport and transferred to Rousse where your river ship awaits, moored on the Danube River. After settling in to your suite, attend a Welcome Reception in the ship's lounge tonight before the Captain's Gala Welcome Dinner this evening. Your ship remains moored in Rousse overnight. (D)

Day 2
Bucharest

Today return by coach via Giurgiu to Bucharest. On a tour, see the Athenaeum and Library, the Arcul de Triumf and more. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant followed by time at leisure to explore, then return to your ship for dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 3
Vidin

Enjoy a day cruising the Danube. Late this afternoon, you'll arrive in the Bulgarian town of Vidin. Take an excursion to Belogradchik Castle before dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 4
The Iron Gates

Today cruise through one of Europe's natural wonders, the Iron Gates. Here the Danube narrows as it winds through a range of gorges between the southern Carpathian Mountains and the north-western foothills of the Balkan Mountains. Forming a natural border between Serbia and Romania, today's passage is sure to be a highlight. (B,L,D)

Day 5
Belgrade

Arrive in Belgrade, Serbia's capital. During a tour, see Tito's Memorial, the Town Hall, Republic Square, the mighty Kalemegdan Fortress and much more. (B,L,D)

Day 6
Novi-sad-Vukovar

Cruise to Novi Sad, dominated by its huge fortress, Petrovaradin, which guards the Danube. Then continue to the Croatian city of Vukovar, where a tour here will take you to see the Franciscan Monastery of St John Capistrano, the Manorhouse Eltz and more. (B,L,D)

Day 7
Mohács-Pécs

Today the ship arrives in Mohács. Disembark and travel by coach to Old Pécs for a sightseeing tour. Then re-join your ship this afternoon. (B,L,D)

Day 8
Budapest, Puszta

From Budapest, travel to the Puszta region. Here, be met by horse-herds and greeted with warm hospitality, brandy and scones. Try a lunch of goulash, the national dish, then return to Budapest. (B,L,D)

Day 9
Bratislava

On arrival in Bratislava, a tour will take your to see the major sights, including the Old Town Hall, Mirbach Palace, St Martin's Cathedral and more. (B,L,D)

Day 10
Vienna

Tour Vienna then enjoy free time. Tonight, perhaps join us for an optional Mozart and Strauss concert. (B,L,D)

Day 11
Dürnstein-Melk

This morning stop in Dürnstein for a tour, then continue to Melk and tour Melk's magnificent Benedictine Abbey, before an evening wine tasting. (B,L,D)

Day 12
Linz-Passau

Today in Linz, perhaps join an excursion to Salzburg and its 'Sound of Music' sights (own expense). Otherwise, cruise to Passau in Germany. On arrival, take a walking tour of this 2000 year-old city. (B,L,D)

Day 13
Regensburg

Arrive in Regensburg today, where a tour of the city includes the Old Town Hall and the Porta Pretoria (B,L,D)

Day 14
Nuremberg

This morning, enter the Main-Danube Canal and in the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Nuremberg. (B,L,D)

Day 15
Nuremberg, Munich

Today, travel by train to Munich. Here, your guide will offer suggestions of what to do, and will also take you to lunch in the famous Hofbrauhaus. (B,L,D)

Day 16
Bamberg

Today, travel by coach into Bamberg for a tour then enjoy free-time, before the cruise continues, now on the Main River. (B,L,D)

Day 17
Würzburg

Take a tour of Würzburg today, then enjoy free time, or take an optional excursion to Rothenburg. (B,L,D)

Day 18
Wertheim, Miltenberg

Arrive in Miltenberg then travel by coach to Wertheim and enjoy some free time. Return to Miltenberg for a tour before re-boarding the ship. (B,L,D)

Day 19
Mainz/Heidelberg-Rüdesheim-Koblenz

Disembark in Mainz. Perhaps travel to Heidelberg for a tour then on to Rüdesheim to rejoin your ship. Or tour Mainz, then cruise to Rüdesheim. Here, visit Siegfried's Mechanical Instrument Museum. With everyone back on board, cruise the most beautiful part of the Rhine and arrive in Koblenz after dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 20
Cochem-Zell

This morning your ship cruises along the beautiful Moselle River before arriving in Cochem, best known for its cosy wine taverns and colourful riverside promenades. Disembark, and enjoy a guided visit to majestic Reichsburg Castle, which offers spectacular views out over the river and its surrounds. Then return to your ship and continue cruising to Zell. Day 21
Bernkastel-Trier

Today arrive in Bernkastel and disembark your ship to explore this quaint town on a walking tour. Afterwards, continue cruising to Trier, where a guided tour will highlight the city's ancient Roman past. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Day 22
Trier

Your wonderful cruise comes to an end today as you disembark the ship after breakfast and transfer to Paris airport for your return flight to the UK.
