Itinerary
Day 1
London to Basle

Travel from London to Basle by air or Eurostar/first class rail and then transfer to your ship. The ship sails this evening.

Day 2
Strasbourg and Kehl

Enjoy some scenic cruising followed by lunch aboard. Arrive in Kehl in the early afternoon and disembark for your guided tour of Strasbourg. You’ll see the Place d’Austerlitz and the European Parliament, and tour the interior of the city’s famed cathedral. Free time allows you to further explore the old section of this French-German city.

Day 3
Heidelberg and Rüdesheim

After breakfast, take a coach to Heidelberg, home to Germany’s oldest university founded in 1386. Your guided tour features imposing Heidelberg Castle, a red sandstone ruin overlooking the Neckar River. Continue with a walking tour through the Old Town and marketplace. Return to your ship in Koblenz and sail to Rüdesheim.

Day 4
Middle Rhine

This morning enjoy an excursion to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum. Return to the ship for some scenic cruising through the delightful Middle Rhine. Later, arrive in Braubach for a visit to Marksburg Castle.

Day 5
Cologne and Düsseldorf

Arrive in Cologne. From here take a tour to the palaces Augustusburg and Falkenlust. Return to the ship and sail to Düsseldorf from where there will be an optional city tour.

Day 6
Arnhem

After breakfast, disembark from Arnhem for a tour of the magnificent Palais Het Loo, which was the summer residence of the Royal House of Orange from 1686 to 1975. Dine aboard. Afternoon departure to Amsterdam.

Day 7
Amsterdam

This morning, enjoy a cruise through this canal-laced city in a glass-topped boat. Pass narrow merchant houses and the renowned Skinny Bridge, and get a different perspective of this vibrant, multicultural city. Then take a tour of the Van Gogh Museum to see works by the famous artist and his contemporaries.

Day 8
Amsterdam

After breakfast, disembark and transfer to Amsterdam airport or Amsterdam Central station for the return journey to London.
